Angela de Boer holds a master is psychology from the University of Amsterdam. She received her PhD from the department of Medical Psychology of the Academic Medical Center (AMC). She is associate professor and Principal Investigator at the Coronel Institute of Occupational Health of the AMC. The focus of her research line is on chronic disease and work. Her research programme aims to provide high-quality, evidence-based contributions to identify prognostic factors for return-to-work and work maintenance, assess the impact of a chronic disease on return-to-work and participation and on quality of working life, improve care regarding work-related issues and assess cost-effectiveness of work-related interventions.
She chaired the EU-funded COST network on cancer and work CANWON of 80 members from 23 countries.
