Very successful first HealthPros trainingweek in Amsterdam

The EU funded HealthPros project (, led by Dr. Dionne Kringos and Prof. Dr. Niek Klazinga started in January 2018. The consortium will train 13 PhD candidates into a first generation of Healthcare Performance Intelligence Professionals (HealthPros) that can make effective use of available healthcare performance data in countries to improve integrated service delivery, patient engagement, equality in access to healthcare, health outcomes, and reduce waste in healthcare.

From the 29th October – 6th November 2018 the first HealthPros event that included all recruited PhD fellows was organized at the AUMC. The program included a whole week of courses and trainings for the fellows (more details can be found here), as well as the Network Meeting (incl. Steering Board) on Thursday November 1st and the Immersion Community event on Friday afternoon of November 2nd. During this Immersion Community event, 10 Dutch companies introduced themselves and their interest in the network and the fellows “pitched” their research, after which there were 10 rounds of “speeddating” between the fellows and companies. This was very successful and received many positive comments. Saturday there was a social program to “De Zaanse Schans” and the fellows finalized their training week with the AMC graduate school “World of Science course”.
