Over the past decades survival rates in cancer survivors have improved significantly, as a result of improved screening and treatment. However, it is important to acknowledge that cancer and cancer treatment are associated with long-term physical and psychosocial problems. These problems include decreased cardiorespiratory fitness and muscle strength, increased risk of anxiety and depression, and/or severe feelings of fatigue, which negatively affects a patient’s quality of life.
