In the run up to a larger international conference on the same topic in Zürich, we organize this interactive conference in the context of professor Puhan’s Spinoza visit to the AMC. The goals of the conference in Amsterdam are to discuss:
- To discuss traditional and “emerging” core competences of academic epidemiologists in the context of current megatrends (digitalization, personalized health, work 4.0 etc.)
- To discuss how curricula for MSc and PhD programs in epidemiology could be adapted to help students acquire traditional and “emerging” core competences Invited are academic epidemiologists who are involved in teaching and research.
Invited are academic epidemiologists who are involved in teaching and research. During the meeting, but also before the meeting, we expect an active role of the attendees to discuss and formulate core competences and curricula for current and future epidemiologists. A part of the registration procedure is to formulate, via an online questionnaire, a list of the most important core competences of epidemiologists. After 9 January 2018, all attendees will receive a summary of the answers to the online questionnaire. During the conference these will be discussed and added to, using MeetingSphere technology to facilitate discussions. Therefore, all attendees are requested to bring a laptop, notebook or iPad.
