The H2020- funded project ‘Prevention of Dementia using Mobile phone applications’ (PRODEMOS) had its kick-off meeting in A’dam on 15-16 January. The project is led by Dr. Edo Richard (neurologist), Dr. Eric Moll van Charante (general practitioner) and Prof. Pim van Gool (neurologist) and will build upon the FP7-funded HATICE project of the same researchers.
The aim is to develop and test an evidence-based dementia prevention strategy using mobile health targeting those at highest risk. After development, the mobile health application will be tested in a randomized implementation trial in 2400 persons over 55 years of age from low socio-economic class in the UK and in greater Beijing, China. The project will run from 2018-2022 and was funded with 3 million euro. See also www.prodemos-project.eu
