This reading club is for students, teachers and researchers wishing to learn more about being white and is organized by three researchers (Maaike Muntinga, Petra Verdonk, Saskia Duijs) who do research and teach about inequality in health (care) and want to have a dialogue with colleagues and students. In this reading club articles about institutionalized whiteness (whiteness in healthcare and in medical teaching) and international whiteness (for example: white fragility, or white innocence) will be discussed. The articles will be sent to you by email. Topics that will be discussed are: how whiteness plays a role in our own life, and how you can become aware of the effect that whiteness has on our own actions and our relationships with others.
The first reading club will be held on June 24th 2020 from 15:00-17:30.
To register for this (online) reading club and to receive the literature and Zoom link, please send an email to: firstname.lastname@example.org
