As of August 1st, 2020, Seta Jahfari is appointed as the new projec leader Quality of Amsterdam Public Health.
Seta Jahfari studied Biomedical Sciences specializing in infection and immunity at the University of Amsterdam. She was offered a PhD position at the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) in 2012, in the field of vector-borne infections and public health under supervision of Prof. Marion Koopmans. During her research, Seta volunteered to work in a mobile laboratory in Sierra Leone to provide diagnostic support for the Ebola Virus outbreak. Following a host of publications in various journals, she successfully defended her doctoral dissertation in 2017. In that same year, she was selected for the Talent Program of ProPharma Group, a Life Sciences and Healthcare consultancy. In this role, she supported clients on a range of topics including development, manufacturing, quality assurance and regulatory affairs. In August 2020, Seta joined APH as project leader quality of public health research.
She firmly believes that Good Research Practice is a fundamental part of research and it is part of an organization’s basic hygiene. Seta would like to contribute to our goal for the highest achievable standards in planning, conducting and reporting by making the processes transparent and accessible. In her view, quality systems should facilitate researchers in their work throughout the research lifecycle without interfering with the creativity, innovation and academic freedom.
Seta will be the Secretary to the Scientific Quality Committee. In this capacity, she can be can contacted for information on Quality Handbook; quality standards; and the application of quality tools and methodologies in various aspects of the research process.
