The Novo Nordisk Prize is awarded to an active scientist that has provided outstanding research or technological contributions that have advanced our understanding of human health and disease, the prevention of disease, or the diagnosis and treatment of disease. The prize is awarded for a predominantly European contribution.
The Novo Nordisk Prize consists of an amount for the awardee’s research (DKK 4.5 million) and a personal award (DKK 0.5 million). An additional part of the Prize (DKK 0.5 million) is for hosting an international symposium within the awardee’s field of research.
Awardees must have made an important contribution to European Biomedical Science. They must have a current position and an active research program at a public or non-profit research institution in a European country. Awardees can have any nationality.
The Novo Nordisk Prize will be awarded by a prize committee that will select awardees based on their scientific achievements after a confidential nomination and review process.
With this call for nominations, the committee seeks the assistance of the scientific community in identifying the most worthy candidates for the Prize.
Please support the further establishment of the European Novo Nordisk Prize by nominating an active scientist that has provided outstanding international contributions to advance medical science for the benefit of people’s lives.
The Novo Nordisk Prize Awardee will be announced in March 2021.
