The AG&M international student fellowship
With the AG&M international student fellowship, the AG&M research institute allows (bio-) medical students to participate in an international research internship within the fields of the research programs defined by the institute (see Research):
1. Re-generation and cancer of the digestive system
2. Digestive immunity
3. Endocrinology, metabolism and nutrition
4. Inborn errors of metabolism
The applicant must be an excellent (bio-)medical student from the UvA or the VU in or just finished with his/her master program and should have a clear link with an AG&M principal investigator.
Students from other universities in the Netherlands are eligible to apply as long as they have a clear link with one of the research groups from the AMC or VUmc. This link should be stated in the accompanied motivation letter.
The applicant should not be enrolled in a PhD-project. The AG&M international student fellowship cannot be used for research that is part of a PhD-project.
Preference goes to students that use this AG&M fellowship for their second master internship and already performed a master internship on a subject within the fields of the AG&M research programs.
The research project
The proposed research project should fit well within the mission of the AG&M research institute.
The AG&M mission is: ‘to perform research that promotes healthy nutrition and metabolism, prevents or cures gastrointestinal, endocrine and inherited and acquired metabolic disease and improves the outcomes of our patients.’
The international institute
The applicant should state the reasons for choosing the particular international institute in the accompanying motivation letter.
