Topic: Local immunometabolites shape inflammatory macrophages and atherosclerosis progression
For this collaborative project funded by Amsterdam Cardiovascular Sciences (ACS), we seek a highly motivated researcher with affinity for cardiovascular biology, metabolism and/or immunology. This translational project incorporates fundamental research questions as well as translational applications in in vivo models, human in vitro models and analysis of atherosclerosis patient material with the ultimate goal to translate our findings to the clinic. To do so, we integrated our complementary expertise on macrophage immunometabolism (Jan Van den Bossche), atherosclerosis (Prof. Menno de Winther) and metabolomics (Michel van Weeghel) to create a unique research environment to successfully perform this interdisciplinary research.
