ACS PhD grant for Vivian de Waard/Dimitra Micha and Aart Jan Nederveen/Marco Götte

Last week, 2 ACS PhD grants were awarded: Vivian de Waard and Dimitra Micha for their proposal on 'the genetic characteristics of Marfan patients dictate aneurysm severity and treatment'. Aart Jan Nederveen and Marco Götte received the grant for their project to perform 'MRI guided cardiac ablation in explanted beating pig hearts'. Congratulations!

The ACS PhD grant stimulates collaboration between researchers from Amsterdam UMC location AMC and VUmc. A total of 9 projects was selected for oral presentations for an external committee. This year the overall level of the presented proposals was very high. The projects were scored on quality and originality, feasibility of project, strengthening translational research and Amsterdam UMC location VUmc-AMC collaboration in one of the research themes of ACS.
