MASTER CARDIOVASCULAR RESEARCH
Is it your dream to start a career in cardiovascular sciences? Maybe the accredited master cardiovascular Research is something for you! A Master’s in Cardiovascular Research at the VUmc School of Medical Sciences enables you to work in the field of cardiovascular research at a university, a research institute or a pharmaceutical or biotech company in the Netherlands or abroad. The majority of our graduates make a smooth transition to an international PhD program.
During this 2-year master program, you learn all about the cardiovascular field, including the pathophysiology of the heart and the clinical aspects of cardiovascular diseases. In addition, you can choose some courses of your own interest, have 2 research internships (one can be abroad) and you will write a literature thesis. See the video below and the website for more information. In addition, read the interviews with the program management and some of our students

PhD TRAINING PROGRAM
ACS offers a top-level PhD training program with a focus on international collaborations with renowned cardiovascular research institutions abroad. Within the program there is access to multiple courses and opportunities.
On the website of the Dutch Heart Foundation, you can find more information about the PhD training courses that are organized by the Dutch cardiovascular research institutes under auspices and with organizational/financial support of the Dutch Heart Foundation.
We join efforts to develop a talent program to attract and train talented researchers (at different stages of their career; PhD - tenure track – professorships – protected research time for senior scientists) and support ‘Out of the Box ideas’ which may form the basis for a new research theme in one of the Research Programs in the future or even become a new Research Program. Each year a call is organized to fund ‘Out of the Box ideas’. See grants for more information.
The ACS Research Programs organize monthly ACS Symposia at which internationally renowned speakers are invited to lecture on cardiovascular topics. See events for upcoming seminars.
