Description Cancer Biology
This theme covers basic and translational molecular research to decipher causes and mechanisms of malignant growth. We develop and analyze cancer models, and explore novel strategies for targeted therapy and prevention. Hereto, in vitro and in vivo model systems, as well as primary patient material are investigated. Subjects of study include cancer (epi)genomics, heterogeneity, and signaling pathways from the cell surface to regulation of genes. Focus is also given to stem cell biology, and communication between cancer cells and the surrounding normal tissue.
