Dr. Daan Noij has been awarded the ‘Frederik Philipsprijs’ 2019. This is a prize for best radiological PhD thesis 2018. Daan worked on ‘Functional MRI in head and neck cancer’ under the supervision of prof. Jonas Castelijns and prof. Remco de Bree (both promotor) and dr. Pim de Graaf (co-promotor). He defended his PhD thesis on 12 November 2018.
His thesis comprised of 10 published scientific papers about possible applications of functional imaging techniques, such as diffusion MR imaging, perfusion imaging and PET for patients with head and neck cancer. In addition he described his research activities about reproducibility, diagnostic and prognostic value of diffusion MRI.
