Irene Kuling awarded Rubicon grant

Irene Kuling (FGB) has been awarded an NWO financed Rubicon grant. Irene defended her PhD thesis entitled Where is my hand? Proprioceptive position sense and its applications in haptics at VU in 2016. Her research centeres on the use of our hands, which we often take for granted, but demands a lot of our brains. Without thinking our hands are at the right place and time for picking, catching or using them for whatever is necessary. Irene will further her studies into eye-hand coordination at Université Catholique de Louvain, ICTEAM and Institute of Neuroscience (IoNS) in Belgium, where she will be for a period of two years.
