Presidential Award for Dorly Deeg at the International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics World Congress

July 23rd, Dorly Deeg (professor of Epidemiology and Ageing at the VUmc department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics) received a Presidential Award at the opening ceremony of the International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics World Congress. She received the award for her efforts and achievements in the field of gerontology in Europe. She has been the principal investigator of the Longitudinal Aging Study Amsterdam (LASA), has been involved in several EU-funded research projects, and is the founding editor of the European Journal of Ageing together with Prof. H.W. Wahl. She has served as the chair of the Netherlands Society for Gerontology and of the Behavioural and Social Science section of the IAGG–European Region.
