Applying to research funding programmes in the NL and in the EU H2020 after 7 June 2018

In view of the establishment of Amsterdam UMC there are some issues researchers need to know.

1) Legal, administrative and financial processes.

The legal, administrative and financial process for researchers applying for H2020 EU funding programmes or any national funding programmes (ZonMw, NWO) or international programmes (e.g. NIH, NSF), will not change after 7 June 2018. Hence, AMC and VUmc applicants will use their respective Participant Identification Code (PIC) to apply for the EU H2020 funding programmes. Similar for NIH and NSF funding programmes the respective DUNS codes need to be used.

In partner descriptions, applicants may refer to “Amsterdam UMC that consists of the founding organisations AMC and VUmc”. Please note that the applying legal entities are still “Academisch Medisch Centrum bij de Universiteit van Amsterdam” and “Stichting VUmc”. Please note that you or researchers may NOT apply for a PIC number for AMSTERDAM UMC (as it is not a legal entity and cannot get funding).

2) Consultation of and support by AMC Research Office and Grants Desk VU/VUmc.

Please consult your respective grants desk at the VU/VUmc campus and at the AMC Research Office. Support to applicants remains unchanged in both locations. Both offices offer optimal support for subsidy applications and the provision of high-quality services to researchers. High quality of central expertise for grants advice and harmonisation of processes for Amsterdam UMC.
