Your challenge

As a postdoc your primary task is to identify appropriate (Dutch) T-cell lymphoma tumor cohorts together with epidemiologists and database experts of IKNL and PALGA. Next, the successful candidate will design next generation sequencing tests based on T-cell lymphoma specific mutations, copy number alterations and translocations. You are eager to work within an international, multidisciplinary EU-project team and your translational interest will be challenged by integrating clinical- and immunological knowledge into the interpretation of molecular findings.

Your profile

To complement our research team, we are looking for an independent post-doctoral research fellow that stands out with clinical- and basic lymphoma and/or immunological interest combined with creativity and ambition. We are looking for a post-doc who brings the following expertise:

  • University (PhD) education in (Bio)Medical and/or Life Sciences;
  • Excellent scientific writing and communication skills in English are a prerequisite for this position;
  • You have affinity with (lymphoma) biology, immunology, the clinical and biological interpretation of large-scale omics data and a clinical translational interest;
  • You are a team player able to think outside the box.

Your work environment

The Department of Pathology at the Cancer Center Amsterdam (CCA) of the Amsterdam UMC location VU University Medical Center (VUmc) is strategically placed and well equipped to conduct experiments necessary to investigate and implement molecular markers in clinical practice. Within an EU-funded, international research consortium, we aim to find new molecular diagnostic avenues in malignant T-cell lymphoma in order to provide patients with optimal, individualized medical care. This post-doctoral position is within the Tumor Genome Analysis Core laboratory, a large and dynamic research group with a strong track record in genomics with clinical, pathological, wet- and drylab expertise, supported by a state-of-the-art laboratory- and IT infrastructure for cancer research. Various fundamental- and translational genome research projects in our group are aimed to provide cancer patients with optimal, individualized medical care.

We offer
