The Cancer Center Amsterdam houses one of the largest oncology research centers in the Netherlands, joining cancer researchers from the Academic Medical Center and the VU University Medical Center Amsterdam. Our mission is to improve treatment, life expectancy and quality of life for patients with cancer and to reduce the impact of cancer on health care and society.

With an integrated, multidisciplinary approach we bring findings from the laboratory into clinical practice. We believe that a better understanding of the underlying pathophysiology, combined with technical advances and patient-tailored novel combination therapies, is key to improve outcome for our patients. We therefore focus on excellent research programs in which we connect fundamental and translational research with clinical studies and clinical care (patient care AMC and patient care VUmc).

All researchers, clinicians, technicians, research nurses and other people involved in oncological research are invited for this meeting. Of course the retreat is free of costs. To stay overnight, which we highly recommend, we charge a small fee. For technicians or research nurses the overnight stay is for free if they share a room with. PhD students stay for free as long as they submit an abstract. Please note that the overnight stay is only for free if you share a room with another PhD student, technician or research nurse.

PhD-students are required to send in an abstract of maximally 250 words. Postdocs may also submit an abstract, but this is not required.
